Liudmila Veselova is a Senior Lecturer at the European Studies Department, School of International Relations, St. Petersburg State University, performing as a lecturer and researcher. Currently she is a visiting professor at the Department of Sociology, Peking University through “Understanding China Fellowship” under the sponsorship of Confucius Institute Headquarter (国家汉办), doing field research on the life world of China’s urban middle class.
Prof. Veselova has been studying and conducting research in several foreign universities: 2013-2014, Free University of Berlin, Germany, in the Faculty of Asian Studies; 2010-2011, University of Turku, Finland, in the Faculty of Asian Studies; and 2007-2008, Wuhan Normal University, China, in the Philological Faculty.
Prof. Veselova is an author of several publications in Russian and English languages, including publications in journals indexed in Web of Science. Her scientific interests include: history of China; informal relation in China; Chinese middle class; talent management. Her PhD dissertation is titled The Role of Informal Institutions (Guanxi) in Political, Social and Economic Life of the PRC.
