讲座简介

The lecture will address the scope of Family Social Work and the fact that technology and medical advancements have contributed to greater opportunities for individuals but also challenges for social work.  There are increased demands, however, restricted resources.  There are increased expectations from individuals, yet limitations to what social work can provide.  The lecture will address both social work with adults, and social work with children and their families.

主讲人简介

Professor Wahida Kent is a social work practitioner with 20+ years experience of working with children and their families, and young adults.  Disability, carers, and children with life shortening conditions are her specialisms.  As well as working with ethnically and spiritually diverse groups in society.  Her research focus: children, disability/life-shortening conditions, diversity (ethnicity focused).  Professor Wahida Kent's teaching covers two broad areas: Social Work, and also Leadership and Management.
